About Bill

Dr. Bill Martin leads the clinical informatics practice and co-leads the medical directorship practice.

Prior to Mediprise, Bill served in the United States Navy as a senior medical officer and medical director. He has deployed overseas and advised many leaders on all matter’s health and safety. He currently serves as the Global Medical Director at a Fortune 500 chemical manufacturer, Chief Medical Officer of an online occupational medicine platform, and other corporate health roles within the maritime, oil & gas, biotechnology, and agricultural sectors. He prides himself upon his thorough knowledge of his clients’ organizations and round the clock availability.

He completed his residency in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Duke University, where he also completed a master of management in clinical informatics (MMCi) at Duke. With his additional training in clinical informatics, he is among only a few dual trained occupational medicine and clinical informatics physicians. He is a registered Medical Review Officer (MRO) for workplace drug testing and CAOHC Professional Supervisor (PS) for OSHA hearing conservation programs.

Prior to Duke he earned his Master in Public Health (MPH) degree from the Gillings School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina. There he received extensive training on public health, environmental toxicology, and was a published researcher in the field of Laboratory Animal Allergy and occupational asthma.

Bill completed a dual MD MBA degree at Texas Tech School of Medicine and Rawls School of Business, respectively. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University.

Bill met his wife, Kate, an accomplished Dermatologist, in medical school. They have one amazing daughter. Bill enjoys the outdoors, homebrewing, cooking, and 3d printing.

Bill is a member of the corporate medicine and clinical informatics ACOEM sections. He is an examiner for the ACOEM Excellence in Corporate Health Achievement Award, giving him a unique perspective on the industry’s best practices and policies. He is a published researcher, lecturer, and expert in occupational allergies and asthma.
