About Annemieke

Dr. Annemieke De Wilde is an occupational medicine physician with 30 years of experience
defining and ensuring the implementation of employee health strategies within multinational corporations.

Her occupational medicine professional journey started with Exxon, and she has since worked for a variety of multinational organizations in global Occupational Medicine (OM) leadership roles. She was the global medical director for Monsanto and later Bayer, and most recently Dow Chemical Company’s Chief Medical Officer. She brings her expertise in global occupational and public health risk management (epidemic response and chronic disease prevention), governance (operational management systems, auditing, compliance), and integrating health and wellbeing into companies’ ESG strategy (in policies and procedures) to solve complex workplace issues.

Born and raised in Flanders, Belgium, she obtained her medical doctor degree at the Catholic University of Leuven. In the United States, she became Board Certified in Internal and Occupational Medicine and completed a Master’s Degree in Public Health at New York’s Columbia University. Her training and years of experience have honed her skills for investigating, problem solving, and multidisciplinary collaboration (EHS, toxicology, security, product safety, HR). She is pursuing a lifestyle medicine certification as part of her passion to improve workforce health and productivity.

Dr. De Wilde is a fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and participates in multiple Occupational Medicine networks to address occupational health management challenges. In addition, she volunteers as co-chair for MyMichigan Health System’s Quality & Safety Committee and contributes to Midland’s Zonta International Club’s annual “Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women” campaign.

She and her husband, Filip Everaert, consider Midland, MI, their home, where they enjoy their friends, walking, playing pickleball, reading, cooking healthy food, and upgrading their mid-century home. They love to travel: visiting their two grown children, family, and friends around the globe makes for interesting “destinations,” exploring things beautiful (nature and art) and tasty to the palate.
